Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the allocation will be channelled to projects that are deemed to have potential to bring revenue to rural communities in Selangor.

“To achieve that aim, we met with Village Security and Development Committees (JKKK) and listened to their suggestions so that the method of using the allocation can be achieved for the development of villages and youth entrepreneurs.

“The allocation is given in accordance with the recommendations made by the JKKK themselves and now they are racing to propose projects. Every project has the potential to be passed,” he told Selangor Kini after meeting with the JKKK Chairman for Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam at the Silver Jubilee Hall at the Selangor State Government Secretariat Building (SUK) yesterday.

Earlier, over 70 JKKK attended the ‘Knowing My Village’ Workshop for Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor to hold discussions and draft respective work papers before submitting it to the state government to approve the project.

During the one-day workshop, Abdul Khalid also had time to hear some project proposals from JKKKs of several villages which were present and asked that the proposals submitted by participants should be able to bring about adequate returns to the communities of respective villages, where the developments of the project will be tabled in the upcoming DNS session.
