Federal Government Should Immediately Solve Shortage of Diesel

SHAH ALAM, 24 Dec: The Federal Government should immediately solve the problem of diesel shortage at petrol stations across the country which often happens, especially at the end of each month.

The President of Petroleum Dealers’ Association of Malaysia (PDAM), Datuk Hisham Othman, said that the problem has gone on for over a year and needs to be solved immediately so that supply is not affected.

He said that this is to ensure that diesel supply and its sales to consumers carry out smoothly.

“The shortage problem of the fuel at the end of the month is problematic and burdens users.

“The exhaustion of diesel at stations often happens at the end of the month, for three to five days, and operators are often blamed,” he said in a press statement.

Hisham said that the sending of diesel to petrol stations is carried out by companies and is out of the control of operators.

“Adequate diesel supply is critical, especially with various activities being carried out now, including the Christmas Day and 2014 New Year celebrations,” he said.
