Goods Train Derailment, Port Klang and Batu Caves Commuter Service Disrupted

SHAH ALAM, 9 Jan: The Kererapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) commuter service between Port Klang and Batu Caves was disrupted this morning due to a cargo train that jumped the railes near the Angkasapuri station.

A KTMB statement said the accident would cause a 30-minute delay in the commuter service up to midnight today.

This is because only one of the two tracks could be used between the Pantai Dalam and KL Sentral stations.

“However the Tanjung Malim and Rawang, as well as Sungai Gadut routes are not affected and will operate normally according to schedule,” they said, quoted from Bernama.

Work was going on to restore the other track, it said, adding that commuters could obtain more information from the KTMB call centre at 1300-88-5862.
