SHAH ALAM, 25 Feb: PKR leaders will take necessary steps to enable the RM2 million suit against the PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, to be resolved amicably and wisely.
This defamation suit was when Hadi Awang was ordered by the court to pay RM2 million in damages to the former PAS candidate for the Bukit Besi State Legislative Assembly, Mohd Shamsul Mat Amin.
PKR Communications Director, Fahmi Fadzil, said that PKR leaders have taken a stand prior to this for the suit to not proceed.
“However Mohd Shamsul insisted that he needed to clear his name and his reputation caused by the claims made during the 13th General Election,” he said in a press statement.
He said that case should not be pursued for the benefit and collective agreement in Pakatan Rakyat.
