Daim Criticised Following Statement Claiming Anwar is Weak

PETALING JAYA, 26 Feb: Today, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Secretary-General, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution, made a very cynical comment on the former Ministry of Finance, Tun Daim Zainuddin, regarding his statement claiming that the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was a weak politician.

“Yes, I agree that Datuk Seri Anwar is ‘weak’ because when he was the Minister of Finance, he did not uphold his children as one of the 10 richest people and he is weak for not collecting wealth for himself as Tun Daim did when he was the Minister of Finance.

“He is also weak because he controlled the national debt by repaying the debt ahead of schedule and he is also weak for presenting a balanced budget, unlike the current Prime Minister who has caused the country to be in debt by over RM600 billion,” Saifuddin said sarcastically in a press statement at the PKR headquarters today.

Saifuddin said this when commenting on a statement by Daim, claiming that Anwar was a weak politician and Finance Minister.

He added that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was the only Finance Minister who was able to present a balanced budget compared to the eras of Daim, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Tin Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datuk Seri Najob Razak, when they held office as the Finance Minister.
