MB: ‘Do Not Take Into Account My Personal Contribution to the Party’

SHAH ALAM, 1 Mar: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, asked his supporters to not bring up his personal contribution to PKR all this while because he is of the opinion that the party is more deserving.

“Do not take into account what I have given because PKR has given more than that. Not property, but a chance for me to carry out my duty (and) ambitions so that Malaysia is led by honest and responsible people.

“If it is taken into account, it is not very sincere. It would be gone (reward from Allah). Let Allah decide the reward. Because that is what I ask for (for personal contributions) is for it to not be taken into account. It would be burned (reward),” he said, making an announcement that he will be contesting for the PKR Deputy President seat.

He said this at the Kasih Bertaut ceremony, with the team ‘Heading towards Pure Reformation; Integrity, Transparent and Clean’, at his official residence here last night.

Abdul Khalid was referring to a statement by the emcee during the ceremony that detailed his true personality by revealing his contribution to PKR which has been hidden all this time form public knowledge.

Among them is when he rescued the PKR Headquarters building from being auctioned in 2011 and helping finance the 12th and 13th General Election campaign through his own pocket.

Abdul Khalid also donated the People’s Independence Tour bus and trailer for the entire GE13, which saw 52 percent of voters supporting Pakatan Rakyat.

In fact, the emcee admitted that such disclosure is not favoured by Abdul Khalid, but thinks that the fact should be known by party members.

The emcee also said that all this while, Abdul Khalid has been labelled for being ‘stingy’, but the Assemblyman for Port Klang has helped the party a lot, including from a financial aspect.
