CYBERJAYA, 1 Mar: The Selangor Government will help Syabas, through local authorities and other government agencies, in adding tankers or cargo truck as well as drivers for the delivery of water.
In addition to that, the Selangor Government will also help manage the use of Rela’s service in helping Syabas send water by tankers.
According to the representative of the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit, Nor Azmie Diron, they have held a meeting with Syabas yesterday and have agreed with the second stage of water rationing that will last for a month.
“The Selangor Economic Action Council held a meeting with Syabas yesterday and the state government has agreed to the water rationing schedule,” he said in a press conference at the office of the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), yesterday.
He said that the six districts will be implementing the second stage of the Water Scheduling Plan by Syabas, starting from 2 March till 31 March.
A total of 2.2 million more people in the Klang Valley will face water scheduling starting from 2 March following the receding water levels in dams.
This situation will affect 260 areas in six districts; Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor.
