CM: Some Parties Are ‘Dissatisfied’ for Not Being Brought Along in the Signing of the Water MoU

KAJANG, 7 Mar: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that criticism on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Government and the Federal Government may be due to certain parties being ‘dissatisfied’ for not being invited for the implementation of the process.

He also described the water MoU signed as being in the interest of the people, despite inviting dissatisfaction from certain parties due to not being informed about the matter.

“This is democracy, the people agree that the conditions of implementation must be right, which means party members must support the action.

“It is just that some are ‘dissatisfied’ for not being brought along to raise the flag,” he said, without naming any individual.

Abdul Khalid also admitted that there is a special committee tasked at examining the MoU and said the establishment of the committee also proves that the State Government practices transparency in its administration.

“Yes. The committee exists and it will ensure that the implementation of the agreement is done correctly and transparently.

“In this, the State Government is involving professional evaluation. If anyone wants to give advice but does not know how to calculate water, we will be in trouble,” he said.

Previously, some leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) wanted Abdul Khalid to refer to the committee, which is represented by Rafizi Ramli, Tony Pua and Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, before signing the agreement.

It also involved the legal expert, Tommy Thomas, as an independent representative who represents the people of Selangor to ensure that the agreement is strong legally.
