CM: Selangor Government Does Not Plan to Sell Holdings in Kesas

SHAH ALAM, 9 Apr: The Selangor Government, through the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), does not plan to sell its shareholdings in the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) concession despite being offered by several companies.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the PKNS Board of Directors do not plan to hold their 30 percent holdings in the concessionaire.

This statement was made in a question and answer session during the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) meeting to answer a question submitted by the Assemblyman for Seri Muda, Shuhaimi Shafie.

In Shuhaimi’s supplementary question, he brought up the plumbing problem under the bridge exit to Jalan Kebun on the Kesas expressway which has caused water to collect in the area.

He said that this problem has lasted nearly seven years and was brought up in district meetings every year, but no action has been taken.

Abdul Khalid, who is also the Assemblyman for Port Klang, in his answer, said that he will invite the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA), the land and district office to resolve this matter.

“In terms of law, the area is under the care of the land office while the administration is under the local authority.

“If this problem is really not solved, we can close the road if it is harmful to motorists. But we do not want it to reach that point,” he said.
