Sabak Bernam Reformation 2.0 Lively in the Rain

SHAH ALAM, 16 Apr: The drizzly rain did not stop about 2,000 residents from around Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam from attending the Reformation 2.0 Assembly at the Sabak Bernam Mini Stadium recently.

The assembly fell on the 15th anniversary of Black 14, which was named after the date of 14 April 1999, when the court decided a prison sentence of six years on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on charges of corruption.

Quoting Keadilan Daily, the event was a milestone to proponents of reform and also a day of hope to commemorate the dark event in the history of the country’s judiciary system. The Reformation 2.0 is a continuation from the fighting spirit of Black 14.

The enthusiasm of the surrounding communities of Sabak Bernam to follow the real explanation of the Defamation II case was clearly revealed when they did not even budge despite having to sit on a wet field and it was further enlivened with the sale of various souvenirs like T-shirts and the Reformation 2.0 book.

Anwar’s presence stole the attention when he managed to enjoy a hot drink while mingling with the residents before joining other leaders on the main stage. In fact, the young people seemed very enthusiastic and did not miss the opportunity to greet and take pictures with the icon of reformation.
