He said that with the study, the State Government is able to understand issues and constraints of the industrial community in Selangor in more depth.

“We have given permission to local authorities to use a part of MARRIS provisions to solve the road and drain problems in industrial areas.

“Local authorities can submit an appeal to MIDA each year for special provisions to upgrade the infrastructure in industrial areas,” he said in the winding-up session of the motion on the JP-ABAS Statement regarding the SSIC.

Earlier, the debate on the motion was joined by Yeo Bee Yin (DAP-Damansara Utama), Lau Weng San (DAP-Kampung Tunku) and Ng Sze Han (DAP-Kinrara).

In his winding-up speech, Ean Yong also agreed to establish a blueprint to determine the direction of industrial development in Selangor.

“This is the perfect time for the SSIC to use its limited resources more effectively and focus in promoting Selangor as an investment destination,” he added.

The SSIC is a State Government agency responsible for attracting and providing services to investors in the state.
