PKR Election: Abdul Khalid Continues Campaign by Not Attacking Rival Candidates

KUALA SELANGOR, 3 May: The PKR Deputy President candidate in the PKR Election 2014, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, does not intend to reply the attack of his rival candidates in the remaining campaign period, thus preserving a campaign of not attacking any rival candidates.

This is because Abdul Khalid considers campaign strategies that make other comrades look bad is not his practice in his attempt to win the party’s number two seat.

“I do not attack, there’s no need. It is even worse for me to talk about attacking in this mosque,” said Abdul Khalid after attending the presentation ceremony for the completed project of the Darul Ibadah Mosque in Kampung Harmoni, Simpang Tiga Ijok, yesterday.

Meanwhile, when touching on the decision by the PKR Election Committee (JPP) to nullify the results of the election in Batang Sadong, Sarawak, following the existence of fraud in the polling process, Abdul Khalid said that efforts against fraud should be carried out at all levels, be it at the party level or the election handled by the Election Commission (EC).

“The PKR leadership is against all attempts of cheating in elections because we agree that we are very angry with the EC for not organising and not reminding that cheating in elections is wrong because it belittles the democracy system,” said Abdul Khalid.

Earlier, the JPP Chairman, Datuk Johari Abdul, in a press conference at the party headquarters, said that the decision to nullify the results was made as there were elements of fraud in the polling process.

He said among the doubts that arose was that the number of ballots was not the same as the number of members who voted, as well as the writing pattern on some ballots seemed to have been written by the same person.
