PKR ELECTION: Abdul Khalid leads in KL, Putrajaya and N.Sembilan, Selangor votes the determinant

SHAH ALAM 11 MAY: So far, in this third week of the PKR Election 2014, the candidate for party Deputy President, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, has received 934 unofficial votes in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Negeri Sembilan, overtaking his opponents, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution (551 votes) and the incumbent, Mohamed Azmin Ali (544 votes).

Based on unofficial results, Abdul Khalid has also won at all divisions in Kuala Lumpur and Putra Jaya except for Lembah Pantai and Batu which were won by Saifuddin.

The main factor for Saifuddin’s victory in the two divisions is believed to be because those divisions are strongholds of Tian Chua and Nurul Izzah, allies in the “ A Future Together ” team.

Unofficial results in Lembah Pantai saw Saifuddin receiving 304 votes followed by Abdul Khalid with 72 votes and incumbent, Mohamed Azmin Ali with 37 votes.

Meanwhile, Saifuddin received 150 votes in Batu, followed by Abdul Khalid (90 votes) and Azmin (37 votes)

Abdul Khalid dominates Bandar Tun Razak with 118 votes, Azmin with 28 and Saifuddin with 8.

Other divisions won by Abdul Khalid are Kepong, Cheras, Bukit Bintang, Wangsa Maju, Seputeh and Putrajaya.

As of now, Azmin has not won at any divisions in the Klang Valley.

The unofficial votes tallied for Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya shows Saifuddin leading with 524 votes, followed by Abdul Khalid with 471 and Azmin with 131 votes.

According to the PKR party constitution, votes are calculated based on a one- member-one-vote system, not based on the number of divisions won.

In Selangor, Abdul Khalid has an outstanding reputation as an administrator among the people and PKR grassroots members in the state.

Meanwhile in Negeri Sembilan, it was a close contest for Azmin and Abdul Khalid, with Azmin winning at three divisions and Abdul Khalid at two divisions.

Azmin emerged victorious in Teluk Kemang, Tampin and Jempol while Abdul Khalid leads in Seremban and Rembau.

The unofficial total votes for Negeri Sembilan, as of now, shows Abdul Khalid overtaking Azmin with 463 votes, followed by Azmin with 413 and Saifuddin with 27 votes.

However, if the unofficial votes are taken into account, it still is not enough to overtake the total amoubt of votes received by Azmin.
