MPK collect taxes from house to house late this month

SHAH ALAM, 17 MAY: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) will enforce a new implementation method of tax collection by going from house to house or door to door, by the end of May.

This step will be taken to ensure all residents pay their assessment rates according to the given period, as informed by the Local Council in a media statement.

” The taxes involved current tax collection and also overdue taxes, ” said the statement.

Stern action will be taken on individuals who is found to have failed to settle taxes under Act 171 Local Government Act, said MPK.

The statement also informed that enforcement will be taken on strata property owners in collaboration with the Joint Management Body (JMB).

” For the convenience of the public, MPK will ensure that property owners receive their Second Term 2014 Assessment Rate Bill starting from the 26th of May, ” said the statement.
