CM: Selangor State Structural Plan 2035 precedes 11MP

SUBANG JAYA, 20 May: Selangor is a step ahead with the preparation of the Selangor State Structural Plan (SSSP) 2035, preceding the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP).

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the SSSP enables the 11MP development plan to be executed in a more planned and better way, in the interest of the people.

He said that Selangor is also the first state to replace the SSSP 2020 with the SSP, in line with the rapid development and changes in current policies.

“We are moving forward, the SSSP is able to show what needs to be done in the 11MP.

“This is important for Malaysia to develop and grow well and to be sustainable, thus achieving a developed nation status to reach the desired direction,” he said.

He said this during the opening speech of the Selangor State Structural Plan (SSSP) 2035 here, which was also attended by the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) Director, Mohd Zaki Ibrahim, and State Executive Councillors, Iskandar Abdul Samad and Dr Halimah Ali.

The programme today was held specifically to provide a space and platform to state leaders and local authorities, the Land and District Office, state and federal technical agencies and subsidiary companies of the State Government, in order to prepare the SSSP 2035.

“We want to exchange ideas to improve this programme, especially involving the development of Selangor because we must make detailed preparation.

“This will allow us to explain to the people the foundation and facts we use to make sustainable and proper planning,” he said during a press conference.

Abdul Khalid said that the SSSP 2035 will be made public upon completion to provide an opportunity to the people to express their views regarding the development plans prepared for the state.
