Dyana: BN failed to build school, but suddenly promises to build a university

TELUK INTAN, 26 May: The residents of Teluk Intan were disappointed because BN’s promise of building a secondary school here failed to be fulfilled.

The DAP candidate for the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election, Dyana Sodya Mohd Daud, said that until now the Kampung Bahagia Secondary School project remains a question although allocation has been given in 2012.

She said that the RM27.2 million secondary school should have been completed this year, but until this second, the signboard for the school construction project cannot be seen.

Instead, today, the BN candidate, Datuk Mah Siew Keong, offered to build a university in Teluk Intan if elected as Member of Parliament.

“Recently, BN has launched an expressway at a cost of RM5 billion and promised to upgrade the broadband if they win.

“I want to ask, what about the Kampung Bahagia school project?

“The RM27 million allocation was given in 2012. Until now, there is not even a signage,” she said, quoted from Roketkini.

According to Dyana, in 2013, the late Seah Leong Peng brought this up in Parliament.

He said that the government promised to complete it this year.

“We want to ask, when are they going to do this one first? They are busy announcing various projects, but others are abandoned,” she said.

On February 11, 2012, the Deputy Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, announced that an allocation of RM27 million has been provided for the construction of the school as well as various upgrading projects in the Hilir Perak district.
