Construction of 31,086 Selangorku Homes, generate revenue of RM3 billion

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 June: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is committed in focusing on the development of affordable homes to provide greater opportunities for the people of Selangor to own homes.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that such a move could be seen when PKNS is expected to build 31,086 affordable homes with a provision of almost RM3 billion from the State Government from 2008 to 2030.

“PKNS is known for its efforts in developing new growth centres, housing, businesses, investment and entrepreneur development.

“Moving on to a new phase, PKNS is now focusing on the development of affordable homes through the PKNS Dream Home ownership programme or known as the Selangorku Homes at the state level.

“In this regard, I strongly encourage PKNS to conduct more independent businesses without being shadowed by the State Government,” he said.

Abdul Khalid said this when presenting his welcoming remarks to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Ibni Almarhum SUltan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, at the Opening Ceremony of the Worldwide Tower, here at Jalan Bukit Bintang last night.

He said that the effort allows PKNS to grow better as a corporation and is able to compete with other private companies, thereby generating greater profits and channelling it back to the people of Selangor.

Abdul Khalid, also the PKNS Chairman, is also proud of the success of the corporation, which will turn 50 years-old this year on August 1.
