Selangor CM Issue: Pakatan should not be enticed by Umno-BN warfare

SHAH ALAM, 12 July: Leaders and supporters of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) have been reminded to not be enticed by any false propaganda triggered by Umno to antagonise the unity of PR.

The Member of Parliament for Shah Alam, Khalid Abdul Samad, said that this includes the false news of the resignation of the Chief Minister of Selangor on Facebook, Whatsapp and SMS texts recently.

“This is a warfare from Umno-BN to show that Pakatan seems to be in chaos and unclear of their direction.

“The people need to be reminded that not everything spread on social media and the mainstream media can be trusted completely,” said Khalid when contacted by Selangor Kini recently.

He explained that the public should make inquiries before believing in a report on social media or the mainstream media.

Touching on the attacks by some PR leaders against the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, Khalid wants the dispute to be immediately resolved amicably.

He also explained that the relationship between the Chief Minister, Executive Councillors and the party should be strengthened to the maximum to face any on-going efforts from Umno-BN to seize Selangor.

“To meet challenges by BN, the relationship in the government and the party needs to be strengthened.

“Ideally, there is no need for a reform to strengthen this relationship, but if a reshuffling needs to be done, it will not be a strange decision, for the sake of unity.

“BN has also gone through a lot of reshuffling,” Khalid added.
