Police urged to immediately investigate scams that deceive the public

SHAH ALAM, 8 June: The police have been given 48 hours to immediately respond and investigate reports made by the public on a supply company here at Ken Rimba Jaya.

The Member of Parliament for Kapar, G Manivannan, said that in less than two months, at least 100 police reports have been lodged by the public claiming they had been deceived by a scheme offered by the company.

However, he said, until now the police have not conducted any investigation and seem uncooperative.

“I have been here less than 15 minutes and I found two checks given by the people to the company.

“Why exactly is the police so slow in investigating an individual and this company. Why exactly is it so hard?

“Why did the police not arrest the individual, investigate and inform the progress to the public whether it is a technical issue or a criminal issue,” he said.

Earlier, he was present with the Assemblyman for Kota Anggerik, Yaakob Sapari, to view the office of Yeop Heng Team Trading here which offered a working scheme from home with a payment of RM800 per month.

The office is no longer in operation and was in a scattered state, probably trespassed by unsatisfied victims who were cheated.

Elaborating, Manivannan said in that period, the police have refused to act, and he will be taking this matter to Parliament next Monday.

On May 2, the Executive Councillor in charge of Welfare and Women’s Affairs, Rodziah Ismail, made a report at the Section 15 Police Station because the company used her name to cheat customers.

Rodziah, who is also the Assemblywoman for Batu Tiga, said in her statement to Selangor Kini that she also urged the police to take appropriate action against the company.
