Selangor Sultan & CM join 10,000 in Aidilfitri prayers at Shah Alam State Mosque

SHAH ALAM, 28 July: About 10,000 Muslims made up of residents from Shah Alam performed the Aidilfitri prayers with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, this morning.

Also performing prayers was the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah; the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, and the State Government Secretary, Datuk Mohamad Khusrin Munawi.

The Aidilfitri prayers which were held at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque was merrier with the presence of Muslims of all races.

More than half of the congregation at the mosque consisted of people from Bangladesh, Myanmar and Indonesia who took sacrificed the opportunity to celebrate this meaningful day with their wives, children and parents because they are here making a living for their families.

Also present was the Director of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Datuk Marzuki Hussin, and the Director of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), Datuk Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa.

After the prayers, the Sultan and the Chief Minister shook hands and mingled with the congregation in conjunction with the Aidilfitri.
