PAS Youth practice gentlemanly politics, AMK Chief rude to Hadi

KOTA TINGGI, 17 Sept: The Terengganu PAS delegates questioned the importance of implementing gentlemanly politics among party members while the youth leaders of coalition parties in Pakatan Rakyat do not practice this.

Hishammuddin Abdul Karim is concerned that only PAS Youth practice gentlemanly politics while the Keadilan Youth (AMK) Chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, was rude towards the PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

“We are worried that only PAS members are gentlemen, but other allies are not. The gentlemanly nature of our leader was proved but the AMK Chief was not a gentleman at all.

“He was not gentlemanly when he met and spoke words of insult which offended the feelings of PAS Youth,” he said, apparently referring to the press statement which disclosed the details of a meeting with PAS Youth.

Prior to this, Nik Nazmi, through a press statement, said that the PAS Youth convened Hadi’s desire to suggest for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid to remain as the Chief Minister of Selangor to overcome the political crisis in Selangor.

Abdul Khalid then thanked Hadi and said that the appointment for the position is under the jurisdiction of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

The practice of gentlemanly politics was proposed by the PAS Youth Chief, Suhaizan Kaiyat, at the keynote address at the two-day 55th PAS Youth Conference which began yesterday.
