PAS never agreed to reduce the number of Exco members

SHAH ALAM, 26 Sept: The Selangor PAS rejected claims that they agreed with the reduction of seats belonging to the party in the new line-up of Exco members.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, announced on Friday that PAS was only given three of the four Exco seats.

PAS, however, was given the position of Deputy Speaker, which previously belonged to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Out of the 10 Exco positions, four were given to PKR and three to DAP.

The following is the press statement on the matter by Mohd Khairuddin Othman, who is the Selangor PAS Liaison Secretary:

Selangor PAS denies any allegations that PAS agreed for the number of PAS Exco members to be reduced from 4 to 3.

We were also informed by the Central PAS that they never agreed to this reduction.

We are also of the opinion that letting go of YB Dr Hjh Halimah Ali and YB Ustaz Sallehin Mukhyi who have served with distinction previously is unfounded.

We feel that this move is not a good start.

However, PAS wants to see the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government remaining stable and able to carry out agendas for the people.

Previously, PAS Exco members remained in the government to ensure that the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government did not fall.

Therefore PAS will remain to defend that government.
