The entry route into the residential area located at Jalan Arca, Bukit Jelutong Timur, had to be temporarily closed for cleaning operations when trees along the road fell over, closing the passage.

A security guard from the surrounding residential area who declined to be named, when met, said that he noticed the storm at around 2.10 pm when he was at the guard post.

“Heavy rain formed like a tornado coming from the edge of the guard post before moving into the residential area and caused roof tiles to be dislodged and felled trees,” he said.

According to a homeowner from Bukit Jelutong, Muhammad Farid Abgani, 40, his house was flooded after the roof tiles dislodged due to the storm.

“The tree in front of my house collapsed, but luckily, it fell onto the road and not in the direction of my house,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Deputy Assistant Director of Fire (Operation), Mohd Sani Harul, said that 15 members of the Shah Alam and Sungai Buloh Fire Station were sent to six different locations around Persiaran Tebar Layar due to fallen trees blocking the roads.
