Budget 2015: Increase development allocation, reduce governance expenses

SELAYANG, 3 Oct: The presentation of the Selangor 2015 Budget next month will focus on more commitment in development for the benefit of the people.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the development provisions will be increased while management provisions will be reduced to a cost to be determined.

He said that the practice of being too focused on management provisions will impact the people.

“This must be in the form of development and in the form of entertainment allowances of salary.

“The salary of the CM, Exco members, Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be cut down to a reasonable level because the increase in 2013 was too high and I cannot face the people because the cost of living is too high,” he told reporters.

He was met after a Friendly Session with civil servants here at the Gombak District and Land Office this morning.

Elaborating on the budge which will be presented, Azmin said that the state government will focus on several matters affecting the interests of the people.

“We have a ‘trust’, the matter of education, housing, welfare.

“That is still in discussions. Let us discuss first before any final decision is made,” he added.
