BANGI, 25 Oct: The responsibility to care for the surroundings of Bangi so that it remains a conducive place to live in does not only lie on the shoulders of the local authority.
The public, especially the residents of Bangi, should play their part to take care of the cleanliness and preservation of the environment.
The Assemblyman for Bangi, Shafie Ngah, said that Hitachi Electronic Malaysia, a multi-national company, to come forward to carry out their social responsibility by working together to plant trees and clean the drains in Section 16 in Bandar Baru Bangi should be emulated by everyone.
Apart from the Hitachi factory which is led by Tokinori Furuichi, their Management Director, and the Bangi Assemblyman’s Office, the programme was also joined by the Bandar Baru Bangi Resident’s Association, the Malaysian Landscape Association and MPKj.
150 participants were divided into several groups and began working together as early as 8 am.
50 Sterculia Parviflora and Lepisanthes Alata trees were planted in the Tasik Cempaka recreation area in Bandar Baru Bangi.
