HULU SELANGOR, 9 Nov: Since becoming the Chief Minister six weeks ago, Mohamed Azmin Ali has gone to six districts in Selangor.
He said that the field programme is his agenda as the executive head of the state government to experience the life of the proletarian people.
He said that only by leaving his air-conditioned office room, he can truly understand the needs and requirements of the people.
“Within these six weeks, I have gone into drains, onto paddy fields, into rivers, landfills, caught people doing wrong things and so on.
“I also cut my salary as the Chief Minister so I can better understand the people’s problems. Otherwise, I am ashamed to see people with huge salaries but the people are suffering,” he said last night at the Rawang Deepavali celebration which was also attended by the Assemblywoman for Rawang, Gan Pei Nei, and the Member of Parliament for Selayang, William Leong.
Azmin, however, could not spend more time there as he had to rush to attend another event in Teluk Intan, Perak.
“I have to be there at 9.30 pm, but I still came here because I want to meet the people of Rawang,” he added.
Mohamed Azmin, who took office on September 23, has now visited the districts of Gombak, Kuala Langat, Sabak Bernam, Sepang, Petaling and Klang.
