CM: Special Committee to monitor the implementation of the RM600 million MARRIS Project

SHAH ALAM, 28 Nov: A special committee will be formed to monitor the implementation of all development projects carried out in 2015.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the monitoring will not only cover the total expenditure, but also includes the returns and quality of work performed.

He said that monitoring will be conducted periodically, which is every three months.

“Every three months we will monitor the distance of the roads paved, the provisions used and other matters with the RM600 million MARRIS provision.

“Monitoring is not just spending, but also the work produces,” he said during the State Assembly session today.

Elaborating on MARRIS, Mohamed Azmin reminded the local authorities to prepare prior planning.

“Local authorities should discuss with Assemblymen on the key requirements, list and decide on the work to be carried out at the beginning of the year and not wait until the second or third quarter.

“All engineers and executing agencies will be sent to attend a course in December to ensure that the job specifications are met.

“We do not want large allocations but hurried work,” he added.
