Poor and needy recipients grateful for LZS carrying out its responsibilities

PETALING JAYA, 10 Dec: The distribution of educational assistance for poor and needy children by the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) is welcomed because it relieves the burden of those earning a low income.

Most of the poor and needy recipients met during the distribution of the educational assistance in the district of Petaling at the Nurul Ehsan Mosque expressed happiness for the contributions given.

A recipient, Azizah Nayan, 49, said that the assistance enables her to bear the costs of her children’s education, especially in terms of buying clothes and school supplies.

The member of the Volunteers of Malaysian People (RELA) does not have a steady income to cover her living expenses with her three children who are still in school.

“I am very grateful to LZS for giving our family this contribution to finance our children’s schooling.

“Any assistance received is with sincerity and gratitude,” she told Selangor Kini.

Another recipient, Azizah Majid, 48, who also received the same assistance expressed her gratitude for the distribution of educational assistance to accommodate her five children.

The assistant operator only has a small income, not to mention that her husband is only conducting business on a small scale and does not have a steady income.

“I am very happy for this assistance because it can accommodate buying school supplies for my children.

“I will use it as best possible to ensure that my children have proper school supplies,” she said.

A total of 1,006 poor and needy families in this district received the educational assistance for their children for the 2015 school session from LZS.

The assistance in the form of school fees and clothing vouchers, as well as school supplies, are valued between RM170 and RM200.
