CM: Get ready to face economic challenges in 2015

SHAH ALAM, 15 Dec: The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, wants civil servants and the people to be prepared to face challenges in 2015 which are expected to be bitter due to the depreciation of the currency and the global and national economy, which is uncertain.

Mohamed Azmin said that it requires the strength of all to develop the best strategy to face the challenges so as to not get caught up in the negative effects of the economic challenges.

He said that several economic indicators, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report which predicts that the global economy will grow at a rate of 3.8 percent only in 2015.

“There are economic experts in the country that project that our country’s economic growth will be much lower than what was predicted,” said Mohamed Azmin during the Selangor State Government Departments Monthly Assembly today.

He said that this is because countries that are in the Euro Zone today are in a static state and cannot get out of economic recession experienced recently.

“We saw Japan, as the developed country in this region, recording recession starting the third quarter this year with the country’s GDP contracting at a rate of 1.6 percent compared to the growth projected at 2.2 percent.

“Of course, when Japan suffers an economic recession, it affects the economic growth of our country,” he said.
