KLANG, 26 Dec: Continuous heavy rain last night resulted in many residential areas being hit by flash floods.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Deputy Director, Mohd Sani Harul, said that several locations in Selangor were badly affected by the flash floods, including Jalan Datuk Abdul Hamid and Meru in Klang.
He said that he was informed about the incident at 11 in the morning and arrived at the scene five minutes later.
“The depth of the water was 0.6 metres and the incident resulted in the overflowing of drain water due to heavy rains since yesterday.
“A temporary evacuation centre has also been opened in Sungai Binjai, Klang, for the families in Meru.
“Meanwhile in Jalan Datuk Abdul Hamin, a total of 15 houses were also involved in the same incident, however no temporary placement centre was opened as the situation there is still under control,” he said, taken from BH Online.
