MBSA focuses on solid waste management & systematic cleaning

SHAH ALAM, 20 Jan: The management of solid waste and public cleaning in Shah Alam are the focuses of the Mayor, Datuk Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad.

He said that the implementation and service will be carried out more efficiently and systematically.

“This effort meets the state government’s policy to achieve a target of 30 percent of work – via in-house public cleaning and domestic waste collection.

“The establishment of the Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning will certainly realise this policy,” he said in his speech.

He was sworn into the highest position in the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) today after being appointed on January 2.

Elaborating, he said that the department will focus on work carried out, including grass cutting, cleaning drains and ditches, sweeping the area and bulk waste collection.

Prior to this, the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, called for all local authorities to focus on solid waste management and public cleaning.

He does not want to hear grievances and complaints that waste has not been collected this year.
