MPSJ prepares RM257,000 to add 78 parking lots at Jalan SS14/2

SHAH ALAM, 24 Jan: The state government, through the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ), has allocated RM257,000 to add 78 parking lots at the commercial area at Jalan SS14/2.

The Subang Jaya Assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh, said that the method MPSJ is using is to widen the parking lots from side parking to angle parking.

She said that previously there were only 116 parking lots and with the additional lots, it will bring the total number to 194.

“At least the additional parking will provide some relief to the businesses and customers in this area who suffer from the limited parking space.

“Before this, they had to scramble with the students of the nearby colleges who park their cars here. With the implementation of the coupon parking system, it is hoped that this problem too will be solved,” she said during a media conference today.

At the same time, Hannah said that she wants a multi-storey parking to be built as an alternative to the lack of parking lots, especially in the SS15 commercial area.

“The Yang DiPertua of MPSJ seems to be more proactive and will try to seek cooperation from the colleges to contribute as the cost needed would reach millions of Ringgit.

“This facility is also to facilitate college students who mostly bring their vehicles to campus and they are lacking of parking spaces,” she said.

According to records, there are at least three private colleges in SS15; Inti College, Metropolitan College and Taylor’s College.
