SHAH ALAM, 26 Jan: The Datum Jelatek development project in Dato’ Keramat takes into account the views of various parties and there is no racial issues, as claimed by some parties.
The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that PKNS is open to take into account the views and objections of the people even though the project has been going on since three years ago.
“The state government’s policy is that we allow residents of the people to send their objections before a development is carried out,” he told reporters when met at the Silver Jubilee Hall today.
Yesterday, about 1000 residents marched to the project site before a street demonstration turned violent when some individuals destroyed and broke the zinc barrier at the project site.
However, Mohamed Azmin questioned whether the participants in the demonstration were local residents or masterminded by people with interests.

“Besides Salleh (Samad, chairman of the Datum Jelatek Action Committee), who else was there?” he asked.
The Datum Jelatek project is being developed by DCI, a wholly owned subsidiary company of PKNS, that combines a residential area, commercial area, offices and retail components in hopes of becoming a catalyst for economic growth in Dato’ Keramat.
Until January 14, 2015, the project has been well received and so far, 1,097 potential Bumiputera buyers have shown interest in signing up, where figures recorded show that it is in excess of the 674 units available.
