Committee to improve Unisel established

SHAH ALAM, 30 Jan: The University of Selangor (Unisel) Improvement Committee has been established, comprising of education experts, to look into issues the institution is facing in more detail and propose measures for improvement.

The Exco for Education, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said that the improvement committee will evaluate the performance of the main officers and evaluate Unisel’s academic programmes.

He said that the committee will also assess the research conducted by Unisel by looking at corporate strategies, financial management and the governance of the university.

“They will also study the existing infrastructural facilities in Unisel,” said Nik Nazmi in a press statement.

The members of the Improvement Committee proposed are the Vice Chancellor of the National University of Malaysia, Dr Shaharir Mohamad Zain, and the Professor of Environmental Engineering, Professor Datuk Ir Dr Hasan Basri.

Also proposed are the Deputy Reactor (Academic) of the International Islamic University of Malaysia, Datuk Dr Jamil Osman; the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Malaya, Professor Datuk Dr Anuar Zaini Md Zain; and the former Penang Exco for Education, Datuk Dr Toh Kin Woon.
