SHAH ALAM, 2 Feb: The issue of the paid parking system which was brought up by a group of residents from the Sunway Batu Caves apartment was solved after both parties agreed to a charge of only RM30 per month.
The Selayang Municipal Council (MPK) Corporate Communications Officer, Mohamad Zin Masoad, when contacted said that the issue was deliberately extended to the media while a consensus was reached since January.
According to him, the issue was resolved, including demands from the residents who wanted special parking lots.
“We have had discussions with them many times. Company representatives met with the residents and we agreed to a payment of RM30 per month and they will be given special stickers.
“Regarding the demand for special parking lots, that indeed cannot happen,” he told Selangor Kini.
Citing media reports on this issue, the Chairman of the Joint Management Body (JMB), Noora Mustafa, asked for negotiations to be carried out prior to solving this problem which has been going on since 2008.
She said that prior to this the residents were given the option of paying RM70 monthly or 50 cents per hour daily.
