Immediately build Later to Lumut, avoid extraordinary congestion in Kuala Selangor

SHAH ALAM, 4 Feb: The state government has been pressuring the federal government to expedite the construction of the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar) to Lumut, Perak.

The Bukit Melawati constituency coordinator, S Manikavasagam, said that the construction would solve the congestion problem that is frequently experienced in the area of Kuala Selangor, especially during weekends, public holidays and festive seasons.

“Currently, the route is the main road through Assam Jawa to Pasir Penampang, leading to Sabak Bernama, including Lumut, Perak.

“If Latar, which now stops in Ijok, can be connected to Lumut, I am confident that it will be the best alternative to the extraordinary congestion in Kuala Selangor,” he told Selangor Kini.

He said this when asked to comment on the proposal to overcome the problem that has been going on for a long time.

At the same time, Manikavasagam said that help from the traffic police, especially during weekends, would be able to help reduce congestion.

“I think if the traffic police can be placed during peak hours every Sunday around 5 to 7 pm, it would be sufficient.

“Currently, many cars are heading to Kuala Lumpur to return to work,” he said.
