CM: List of Datum Jelatek buyers not disclosed

SUBANG JAYA, 11 Feb: Selangor will not disclose the list of buyers and applicants of the Datum Jelatek condominium project to the public, said Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He said that this is because it is unfair for the state government to do so against the buyers of the property involved.

“It is not that we cannot reveal it, but is it fair for us to reveal the names of the property buyers?

“If you buy car or a house, do you want me to reveal your name? Of course not,” he said after witnessing the Agreement Signing Ceremony Between Antara Perspektif Masa Sdn. Bhd. & China Railway Engineering Sdn. Bhd. and the Loan Agreement Signing Ceremony between MBSB & CREC at the Grand Dorsett Hotel today.

Mohamed Azmin also repeated his stand that Selangor refutes narrow allegations by a handful of people that are still playing racial and religious sentiments regarding the matter.

He said that the evil and nasty move is being intentionally brought up when the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) has already issued a written statement that 1,200 applications have been received and only 680 units are being offered to Bumiputeras.

“What is the accusation? It would be over if Chinese enter the Datuk Keramat area when the response (received from Bumiputeras) is quite good.

“The issue is that Malays are able to buy properties worth RM700,000, that is all,” he said.

Previously, Mohamed Azmin said that the Datuk Jelatek project will continue despite receiving objections in addition to stressing the state government will not entertain any objections that are racist and narrow extremist in nature.

The Datum Jelatek project began in 2008 on an area of 2.4 hectares beside the Jelatek LRT Station, involving the construction of 4 blocks of luxury condominiums, a hotel, offices and a mall.
