Defamation II: Anwar will not seek Agong’s pardon

PETALING JAYA, 23 Feb: The Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will not seek forgiveness from His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia on the conviction of the Defamation II case.

The PKR Vice-President, Rafizi Ramli, said that so far Anwar never gave any instructions to his team of lawyers to do so.

“As far as I know, Anwar never gave any instructions (to seek pardon from the Agong).

“He (Anwar) is not guilty,” he said in a press conference at the PKR headquarters today.

Anwar was sentenced to 5 years in jail, starting February 10.
