Selangor & Sarawak strengthen economic & social bilateral cooperation

KUCING, 3 Mar: Bilateral relations between the Selangor and Sarawak governments were brought closer with stronger cooperation to intensify economic, social and social welfare growth.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that he gave his assurance of being ready to meet the current needs of Sarawakians who are living and working in Selangor.

He said that the cooperation is essential to ensure that the people obtain benefits.

“I suggested a few matters and areas to establish cooperation between Sarawak and Selangor because these two states are the main contributors to the country’s economy.

“I also asked Adenan to inform me if there are welfare matters among the people of Sarawak who are living in Selangor to be addressed,” he said.

He said this to reporters after the delegation’s courtesy visit to the office of the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Tan Sri Datuk Adenan Satem, today.

The Selangor delegation, led by Mohamed Azmin, is in Sarawak for three days since March 1.

Taking the opportunity of being in Sarawak, the delegation also visited the Chairman of ACS, Most Reverend Archbishop Datuk Bolly Lapok at his official residence at St. Thomas Cathedral.

A meeting was also held with Sarawak church leaders that was led by Senior Pastor Darren Tan, the Chairman of the Kuching Ministers Fellowship, at a closed event at the Sarawak Club in Kuching.

Apart from that, the delegation also attended Chinese New Year celebrations at Mambong and Miri.
