10,000 march from Sogo towards KLCC to urge for Anwar to be released

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 Mar: An estimate of 10,000 participants of the peaceful rally to urge for the release of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was imprisoned, marched from Sogo towards KLCC.

The police initially closed Jalan Tunku Abd Rahman to make way for participants of the rally.

The slight drizzle did not dampen the spirit of participants who continued their protest against the judiciary system in this country.

They chanted slogans of justice, including “free Anwar”.

They also demanded for the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, to step down.

They also beat drums and played other various musical instruments.

Vehicles passing the area also sounded their horns in sign of their support.

At the moment, the procession is crossing the intersection of Jalan Sultan Ismail to Kampung Baru.

Apart from slogans urging for Anwar to be released, they also demanded for the price of fuel to be reduced.
