SHAH ALAM, 24 Mar: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders should give the PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, to explain the insistence of the Islamic party to implement Hudud law.
The PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that PR should be fair to Abdul Hadi and allow him to detail PAS’ stand in implementing Hudud despite differences of opinions.
“I think that we can solve this problem through discussions because that is the spirit of PR.
“I think that Hadi should be present at the PR Presidential Council meeting to discuss the issue being brought up by the DAP and PKR Central Executive Committee (CEC) previously to know why the decision was taken alone and not by consensus,” he said.
He said this during the Launching and Officiation for the Hijrah Programme in Selangor at the Silver Jubilee Hall near here today.
Mohamed Azmin is certain that there will not be a split in the PR coalition and all problems can be resolved amicably.
“Most PAS members want PR to continue. If there is anything it will be discussed because PR’s strength is always based on discussion and consensus,” he said.
