2009 Economic Stimulus Package reviewed

SHAH ALAM, 3 Apr: The effectiveness of the 2009 Economic Stimulus Package is being revised as there are no detailed guidelines for the success of the package.

According to the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, the focus given to the restructuring of the water industry is one of the main areas of the package.

“At this point, the state government is reviewing the effectiveness of projects outlined because according to available records, there are no guidelines for careful planning towards the success of the project.

“I believe that with the spirit of both parties, the Federal Government and the State Government, to adhere to principles and terms of the main agreement, these efforts can be resolved in the near future,” he said when answering a question from the Hulu Kelang Assemblyman, Saari Sungib.

In addition to the restructuring of the water industry, five other areas under the package are the conservation and development of Sungai Klang, the redevelopment of abandoned housing projects and the renewal of activities in the city through the redevelopment of abandoned areas.

It also includes increasing rice yields and the expansion of the transportation system.
