CM: MBI cooperates with private developers to manage real estate assets

SHAH ALAM, 8 Apr: Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) has been commissioned to foster strategic partnership with private developers as a means of managing Selangor’s assets.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the effort is to provide a ‘win-win’ situation to both parties, thus balancing the property industry ecosystem.

“This move would make it an investment entity to boost and improve the productivity rate of assets and develop human capital.

“Returns can also be improved without just relying on quit rent premiums,” he said.

He was answering a question from Yeo Bee Yin (DAP-Damansara Utama) regarding MBI’s plans to develop the 5,000 acre land in partnership with private developers.

Elaborating, Mohamed Azmin (PKR-Bukit Damansara) said that the request for information process will be done first to collect all information on developers.

“When this is identified, developers involved are asked to produce a request for proposal.

“Developers that meet the strategy and development planned will be selected as partners,” he said.
