Exco: ‘Kita Lawan’ slogan not finalised

SUBANG JAYA, 10 Apr: The ‘Kita Lawan’ (We Fight) slogan proposed to be used by the Selangor Contingent in the Malaysian Games (Sukma) 2016 has actually not been finalised.

The Exco for Youth Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development, Amirudin Shari, said that the slogan to be used in the games in Sarawak is still at the proposal stage.

He said that discussions with the Chief Minister and sports associations will be held to reach an agreement on the slogan.

“Sukma will take place next year. So, the slogan or fighting spirit which we are throwing will be made at the last minute.

“The proposal was let out and widely discussed as though it has been finalised,” he said.

He was commenting on the decree by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who hopes that there will not be any controversy surrounding the Sukma Contingent 2016 to maintain the good name of athletes and the state team.

He would be pleased if the Selangor Contingent found an enthusiastic slogan which has no political elements to prevent any political or racial elements.

Amiruddin also highly regards the concerns of the Sultan of Selangor who wants the development of the state’s sports to be upheld like in the past.

“We take it seriously. We will produce a better and more spirited slogan to uphold the dignity of sports in this state,” he said.
