Exco: Dengue cases decreasing each week

SHAH ALAM, 11 Apr: Statistics for dengue cases, as of April 4, showed a decrease by 426 cases compared to 125 cases per week previously.

The Selangor Exco for Health, Welfare, Women’s Development and Family, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that Petaling is among the areas that recorded the highest number of cases, followed by Subang Jaya and Shah Alam.

“The decrease by 426 cases is a remarkable accomplishment for the hard work carried out at several hotspots,” she said during the launch of the Selangor Health Carnival today.

She said that this is the result of efforts by the state government, together with local authorities, to prevent dengue and conduct awareness programmes.

However, she said that there should be continuous effort to eradicate Aedes breeding grounds to zero.

“We hope that the people will obtain health information about healthy eating or any kind of information to practice a healthy lifestyle,” she said.
