SHAH ALAM, 11 Apr: The state government is now waiting for a response from the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water to hold further discussions regarding the Selangor water restructuring agreement.
The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that he has sent a letter to the ministry last week and is waiting for an answer from them.
“I wrote to the minister (Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili) and requested for a meeting to be held immediately.
“Now, I am waiting for the date,” he told the media today.
The Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session which ended on April 9 approved the motion for the state government to hold discussions with the Federal Government on the matter.
Prior to this, the state government decided to not proceed with the agreement because the Federal Government allegedly did not respect the terms and conditions of the agreement, which was signed on September 12, 2014.
