PKNS encourages & exposes students to venture into business

SHAH ALAM, 26 Apr: The Tunas Niaga Programme (PROTUNe) sales promotion and Entrepreneur Pilot Programme organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) are aimed at providing exposure and hands-on training in business to students.

The PKNS Public Relations Manager, Ishak Hashim, said that the programme is carried out in collaboration with the Selangor Education Department (JPS), involving 37 schools from across Selangor at the PKNS Complex starting April 23 to 27.

“The PROTUNe entrepreneurship programme, under the PKNS Entrepreneur Development Division, is to guide and provide room for secondary school students to build business minds starting from their schooling period.

“The Entrepreneur Pilot Programme will involve primary school students and will expose them to the world of entrepreneurship and to spark the young children’s interest in entrepreneurship,” he said.

The launch of the programme was carried out by the PKNS Entrepreneur Development Division Manager, Azilah Arshad.

Ishak said that every school representative in the programme will promote their products on stage to visitors.

“It aims to make them more courageous and confident in facing customers.

“Other attractions include a saidinalympic contest and stage performances from national school students in the Entrepreneur Pilot Programme,” he said.

In addition to sales promotions, he said that other activities to educate the students about the world of entrepreneurship are being carried out such as the Company Management Course, Entrepreneurship Camp, Company Liquidation and the PROTUNe Convention at state and national levels.
