BN’s candidate’s Umno branch dissolves, proves that its own members do not believe

PERMATANG PAUH, 1 May: The dissolution of the Guar Jering Jaya Umno branch proves that the party’s fight has far deviated and the people’s support for them is dwindling.

The PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the decision was made by Umno members at the branch and is good news for the PKR candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, in facing the Permatang Pauh by-election on May 7.

“I welcome the decision made by some Umno members to leave Umno’s fight.

“This proves that PKR and Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) policies have managed to convince party members that the direction of Umno’s fight today has deviated from its original goal,” said the Chief Minister of Selangor to the media today.

He said that Umno is no longer fighting for the people and Malays but more focused on reaping wealth for the leadership and their families only.

“During this week, we will explain to the people in Permatang Pauh about how important they must be together with PR in supporting our policies.

“I believe and am confident that this group that left Umno holds by PR’s principles and policies,” he said.

The Seberang Jaya Assemblyman, Dr Afif Bahardin, said that the dissolution of the Guar Jering Jaya Umno branch involved 68 party members consisting of Pemuda and Wanita.

“This is a result of dissatisfaction all this while as they were neglected and dissatisfied by the Federal Government’s policies that pressure the people.

“Interestingly, this branch is the village of the BN candidate Suhaimi Sabudin. If he is not able to take care of the welfare of his own village, how does he want to take care about the welfare of all the people of Permatang Pauh?” said Dr Afif.

He said that this is a blow to Suhaimi because Umno members themselves do not believe in the Umno leadership today.
