PERMATANG PAUH, 5 May: The Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail known by the Deputy President of PAS, Mohamad Sabu, about 40 years ago managed to keep her identity despite going through various stages in life.
Mohamad Sabu said that it can be seen with the simple appearance that Dr Wan Azizah has maintained until now and even when her husband, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was the Deputy Prime Minister.
“Say anything about her husband, she remains faithful. Her husband went to prison, she took care and educated her children.
“When we look at her children, we feel calm. Even though they live in Damansara, they all wear the tudung and are polite because of their mother, Kak Wan. For me, she is an iron lady and righteous.
“It was also the same when she was a doctor. She was the best student at university unlike Ahmad Maslan. When Anwar joined Umno, she remained modest and did not style her hair up as large as a basket, ‘karenkan’, until RM1,200,” he said.
He said that the hardships that Dr Wan Azizah had to go through allowed her to be considered as an iron lady that is superior compared to world famous female political leaders such as Hillary Clinton and Corazon Aquino.
He said that the Permatang Pauh voters do not reject women who have personality, appearance and a fighting spirit like Dr Wan Azizah.
