CM: Successfully penetrated BN’s stronghold, promising for PR to widen the majority

PERMATANG PAUH, 6 May: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has promising hope to widen the majority won in the 13th General Election (GE-13) when they managed to penetrate several villages which were previously Barisan Nasional’s (BN) stronghold.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that this was following the positive reception received by the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, when visiting the area.

“The voters’ response in Permatang Pauh is very positive when they received Kak Wan as a candidate well. Kak Wan is the best candidate for Permatang Pauh.

“The good acceptance of several villages that were BN strongholds showed that the residents of Permatang Pauh are increasingly accepting the reality that the country should be led by PR,” he told Selangor Kini.

He said this after attending a friendly football match between Pilihan Selangor Legend against Pilihan Pulau Pinang legend at the Mengkuang Semarak football field.

Mohamed Azmin said that the PR machinery must also learn from the results of the GE-11 when PKR only managed to obtain a majority of 590 votes only compared to 9077 votes in the GE-10.

He said that since then, PKR has consistently maintained a majority of over 13,000 votes in two GEs and one by-election.
